1k Downloads, Dev Stream, Moving Forward


It's been a few weeks since Otome Jam has concluded, so I thought it would be good to make a devlog! So let's get into our talking points for this post, shall we?

Thank You for 1,000+ Plays

Wowie. Thank you all so much for the support on the project thus far. The team and I are blown away by how much people love Candied Hearts, its characters, and the world! It makes all the blood, sweat, and literal tears (because towards the end of the jam some of the files for the game got corrupted and I had to rebuild part of the game and I literally wanted to throw my computer out of a window) that were put into this project worth it. We look forward to delivering the final product to you very soon! (Like a few months soon!)

Dev Stream

Want to hang out with the chaotic group that is the Candied Hearts dev team? Want to learn more about the development process? Want to ask us questions like "Why is Lakritz so fine?" All your wants and needs will be fulfilled on July 22nd, as we will be hosting a Candied Hearts dev stream on my Twitch channel

Oona, SummerOrigins, and LegendEx Games will be there by my side, as we play through the game and talk about anything and everything regarding Candied Hearts. We'll also be revealing what's to come. So, you don't want to miss this stream!

Moving Forward

As of writing, the first draft of Peppermint's route is complete. I (Kristi) finished it back in June, and have made edits to it since then. Editing will begin on it later this month! For now, we've made small adjustments to the demo, such as correcting typos and grammatical errors. While we are on the topic of changes...

Small Change: Reginald Sprite


As of writing, Reginald has a sprite in both the downloadable and web versions of the demo! Why do you ask? Well, we can't go into detail about that right now, but let's just say that we have plans for our hot bully~

No More Updates to the Web Build

With this final update to the demo, we will now be moving forward to focusing on the full release which means that we will no longer be updating the web build. While this may be disappointing to some, it would be impossible to compile the full game into the web build. I already had enough trouble trying to compile the current version demo as it was to a simple web build. Thank you for your understanding.
