So, I think after what many might consider a mental break down on two VN dev servers consisting of me freaking out, posting images, and asking for help (thank you to those who did help me), I decided to do some research on the particular "virus" Windows Defender was picking up to see if there were any similar problems with previous Ren'Py games.

Yep.

I decided to test out a theory: deleting the icon files. The icon files just add a custom image to the game's .exe when in a folder or when the game is a shortcut on your desktop. I deleted them, re-built the game for distribution and NO ISSUES!

So in short, there was never a virus. Windows Defender thought two picture files were a trojan virus that was going to ruin your life.

Nope.

So for my and everyone else's peace of mind, the newest build has no icon folders, ensuring you and Windows Defender users that there are no viruses. Sure, you'll have to look at the Ren'Py mascot instead but at this point, I'm exhausted and just really don't care about the small things anymore.
